Kokoro Performance is an industry-leading driver development and management company that works with some of the world’s best upcoming talent in the world of motorsport, with drivers racing in categories all around the world, from F1, F2, to WEC, IndyCar, GTs, classic cars, and more.
As a driver development company, they rely heavily on off-track resources and simulators. Kokoro chooses to partner with the team at FPZERO who have developed bespoke simulators for the Kokoro athletes. To ensure drivers optimise their home simulators and can continue to develop away from the circuit, the Kokoro team builds bespoke training programs with its clients to maximise development away from the circuit. Understanding how to use your home simulator as a driver development tool is key, and having a home simulator can allow for continuous development if used in the right way.
While in most sports you can practice every day with relatively low costs, motorsport is extremely expensive to get out on track, so we must be creative in how we can improve every day. Home simulators have helped evolve the development of drivers dramatically over the last few years. However, a lot of drivers aren’t using these tools as efficiently as they could. The team at Kokoro has been working with drivers on their home simulators to ensure the development rate is sped up using measured drills while achieving maximum value in time and money. With the use of data and other technologies, the performance coaches can analyse and understand the driver in great detail, if they are in the Kokoro Performance office or on the other side of the world. A few of the drivers Kokoro has worked with over the last 6 years include Zak O’Sullivan, David Morales, Kiern Jewiss, Zane Maloney, Tom Lebbon, and many more.
“Kokoro Performance has a long-standing relationship with FPZERO and uses their products and simulator for all clients. With so many simulators on the market to choose from, FPZERO stands out for its product quality, customer service, and support. All FPZERO simulators come setup using the software we use to remote and link in with our clients, and as soon as the sim is installed, we are able to waste no time getting to work with our clients.”
“The use of remote simulator training has been transformative for Kokoro and its drivers. We have the ability to work at any time, in any location around the world, leading to great results and efficient development. Our remote sim programs aren’t just used for improving the driver; they are also used to gather data through measured drills and techniques that allow us to understand where each driver’s strengths and weaknesses are, so both coach and driver know what to focus on, both on and off track. The great thing about this approach is it allows athletes to develop both independently and alongside their coach, using self-analysis to make these techniques habitual and improving their ability to deliver and receive technical feedback. This attribute is expected when a driver reaches the highest levels of their professional career. Once this is established, we can efficiently advise on the overall direction of their program so they continue to improve week after week.”

Kokoro’s remote development is done using a live telemetry system, developed with FPZERO, that gives our coaches the driver inputs and performance during the session. Following the remote sessions, all data is shared with the coach and then analysed against our coaches or pro driver data, coupled with live onboard coaching to give direction on how to improve, consistency in the process of extracting lap time by manipulating the car, and further video analysis of the session to help improve for the next session. Our coaches are continuously adapting and changing the driver program drills to prepare for changing conditions or situations.
Partnering with FPZERO, for a limited time offer, Kokoro is offering a free one-on-one remote session for 1 hour with a performance coach to all FPZERO clients to understand how best to use and optimise their home simulators and leave with some key pointers on the direction to focus their development to achieve the best results off the track.
